Is there a spell checker on here already? If so, where? If not does this platform have acess to be upgraded for one? This looks something like VBulletin but slightly different.

good idea. I usually write in word or something and spell check in that. I will check to see If I can install a spell check mod.

If you are interested in looking into it then have a look at the following link. This message boards uses the opensource "phpBB" software. I think that it is the leading message board software.

I am really bad with computers. So, I will just word it first and check it there before pasting. Maybe someone else is more tech savy than me. That should be everyone!;)

I found it !!! spellingcow make a spellchecker for php sites that can be configured to either automatically check all posts prior to submit or it could be set to off. Either way the user can overide the default setting through the options list found below the messge box and above the preview/submit buttons.

It will take me about 30 to 45 minutes to install and test this MOD so when I have time over the next week or two I'll set it up.

I also need to check on how much resources it uses as I have limits set by the server hosting company.

Sounds like we are on the right track. I think we can work our thoughts out on a word-processing program till you get this up. When we get a bit bigger, perhaps you can find some tech mods that really know all thic computer stuff for the forum. That way everything runs really smoothly.
